John Gately Parizo, 73, of Luxury Drive in Newport, died Saturday morning, June 10, 2006 at his home. He was born in Newport, NH on September 14, 1932 the son of Clement and Catherine (Gately) Parizo. He resided in Newport most of his life and lived in Dexter, OR for ten years. He retired as a supervisor from Cone Blanchard Machine Co. in 1994 and had previously worked at the Newport Clothing Factory and the Moody Hotel. He was a member of the Forrester's Club, the American Legion Post #25 and formerly of the VFW Post of Newport. He was the widower of Beatrice Anna (Girard) Parizo whom he married on October 25, 1957 and she died December 31, 2001. The surviving family includes two daughters, Bonnie Lee (Stribling) Phillips and her husband, William J. of Dexter, OR. and Pamela Ann Marvin and her partner, Shelly Page of Charlestown; four grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine (Parizo) Coronis and her husband, James of Newport and several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was pre-deceased by one son, Terrance Stribling and four brothers, Albert Noyes, Leonard Adams, Francis Parizo and Larry Parizo, Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH on Thursday, June 15th from 11:00 to 12:30 with a time of sharing from 12:30 to 1:00 PM. Rev. Father Richard St Louis, Pastor of St Patrick's Church in Newport will conduct a prayer service at the Funeral home at One O'clock. Interment with full military honors, provided by the Newport American Legion will follow in Mt View Cemetery in Claremont. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Disabled American Veterans Association, Veterans Administration Center, North Hartland Road, White River Junction, VT 05001. |
