Kenneth Joseph Charles Borcuk, 82, of North Street in Claremont, NH died
Sunday morning, August 5, 2007 at his home, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Windsor, VT on June 12, 1925 the son of William and Mary
(Pozniak) Borcuk and had resided in Claremont since 1949.
He was a veteran of World War II having served 8 years in the US Army Air
Borne and was in the Special Honor Guard for several generals including
Eisenhower and MacArthur.
Mr. Borcuk worked in the shoe shops including, International and Encore,
later at the Claremont Paper Mill for six years, LaValley's Building Supply
for two years and lastly at Joy Manufacturing Co. as a custodian for eight
years. He enjoyed collecting stamps, Old Man of the Mountain memorabilia,
baseball cards and marbles. He loved playing marbles and dancing,
especially the waltz and polka.
His first wife, Erika Louise (Lotz) Borcuk died in 1994.
The surviving family includes his wife, Violet (Woodbury) Borcuk of
Claremont whom he married on Nov. 24, 1995; three sons, Manfred Borcuk and
his wife, Pat of Cornish, Roy Borcuk of Randolph, VT and Dennis Borcuk, Sr.
and his wife, Dianne of Newport; three step-sons, Stephan Bosley and his
wife Peggy of Windsor, VT, Staff Sgt., US Army, Michael Bosley currently in
Iraq, and Gregory Sertain and his wife Linda of Great Falls, MT; two
step-daughters; Cathy Swafford and her husband Tim of Greenville, OH and
Tammie Beckley and her husband Robert of Claremont; twenty-three
grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren; two brothers, Louie Borcuk of
Riverside, CA and William Borcuk and his wife Maxine of Claremont; two
sister-in-laws, Cele Borcuk of San Antonio, TX and Elsie Borcuk of St.
Petersburg, FL and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by four brothers, Michael Borcuk, Peter Borcuk, twins
John and Joe Borcuk and three sisters, Mary LaMontagne, Sophie Borcuk and
Pauline Borcuk.
Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street on Thursday
evening from 6 to 8 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday morning, Aug. 10th at
Eleven O'clock in St Joseph Church with Rev. Father Richard Tetu,
officiating.
Interment with full military honors provided by the American Legion Post #29
of Claremont, will follow in St Mary's Cemetery.
