Lucille Mildred Parkinson, 73, of Genesis Health Care of Lebanon and a former long time resident of the River Road in Claremont, died Wednesday evening, November 30, 2005 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in Lebanon. She was born in Sunapee, NH on March 28, 1932 the daughter of Clayton and Mildred (Scranton) Buswell. She was a graduate of Stevens High School in the Class of 1950. Lucille started working as a telephone operator for the New England Telephone Co., shortly after high school, where she worked for nearly fifteen years. She also worked at the Woodbine Cottages in Sunapee as a pastry cook, later for Johnson & Dix in the office as a telephone operator and answering service, also the Sullivan County Nursing Home, Alice Peck Day Hospital and retired in 1998 after four years with On-Line Answering Service which she helped set up with her daughter, Beth in Cornish. She also lived with Beth in Grafton and in Pittsburg, NH and at Genesis for the past years. Lucille loved and enjoyed her family, grandchildren and great-grand-children. She was a resident councilor representative and member of the Red Hat Society at Genesis at Lebanon. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clayton Parkinson on May 21, 2000 and son, Medcalf Parkinson on Sept. 29, 2000. The surviving family includes, three sons, Roscoe Parkinson and Tobiah Parkinson both of Claremont, and Lance Parkinson of Unity; two daughters, Beth-Anne Dube of Pittsburg, NH and Lynnan Parkinson of Claremont; thirteen grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; one brother, H. Leonard Buswell of Riverside, CA; four sisters, Mrs. Robert (Erdine) White, Sr. of Corona, CA, Mrs. Roger (Edith) Kidder, Sr. of Hooksett, NH, Mrs. Robert (Helene) Norman, of North Charlestown and Mrs. Nancy Decoteau of Claremont; also several nieces and nephews. There are no visiting hours. Graveside committal services will be held Monday afternoon, December 5th at Two O'clock in Union Cemetery. The Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont is in charge of arrangements. The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to Genesis Health Care, for the activity room, 243 Old Etna Road, Lebanon, NH 03766. |
