Maxine Theresa Lord, 79, who made her home with her daughter on Bonmark
Drive for the past year, died Saturday evening, November 17, 2007 at her
home surrounded by her family.
She was born in Lebanon, NH on October 18, 1928 the daughter of Albert W.
and Flora V. (Contois) Fontaine. She resided in Claremont most of her life,
lived in Deltona, FL for 22 years and returned to Claremont in 2004.
She graduated from St Mary's High School in Claremont.
Maxine retired in 1983 from Belfon Machine Co. where she was the office
manager for eight years. She had previously worked as a loan officer at the
Claremont Savings Bank and MAC Finance and was a secretary at the Claremont
General Hospital.
Maxine loved being with her family. Her highest priority was to treat all
the grandchildren fairly. She loved knitting sweaters and afgans and making
special gifts for each of them. Winters were a little warmer because of
Gram's sweaters and our houses were a little homier because of her crafts.
We will certainly miss her love and encouragement.
She was the widow of Donald E. Lord whom she married on October 1, 1977 and
he died December 21, 2005.
The surviving family includes one daughter, Kathleen A. Perron and her
husband, Claude R. of Claremont; three step-daughters, Betty Dutilley and
her husband Brian of Claremont, Brenda Bunnell of Newport, and Theresa
Perron and her husband Norman of Cleremont, FL; ten grandchildren; fifteen
and a half great-grandchildren; one step brother, Hayden Mason of Rex, GA; a
sister-in-law Virginia Fontaine of Davenport, FL also nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by an infant son, David F. Goguen; a grandson, Jason
Perron; one sister, Velma Gagne and two brothers, Norman Fontaine and Paul
Fontaine.
A memorial service will be held Friday afternoon, Nov. 23rd at One O'clock
in the Calvary Baptist Church, 97 Maple Ave., in Claremont with Rev. Stephen
Cook, Pastor, officiating.
Interment will follow in St Mary's Cemetery.
A time of fellowship and sharing will be held after the services in the
church hall.
The family suggest that donations may be made in her memory to Connecticut
Valley Home Care/Hospice, 958 John Stark Highway, Newport, NH 03773-2609.
