Merton Picknell Leavitt, 84, of Claremont, NH, died December 12, 2005 at the
Togus Veterans Medical Center in Togus, ME.

He was born in Cornish, NH on March 25, 1921 the son of Carl S. and Viola F.
(Picknell) Leavitt.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Asiatic-Pacific
Theater in the US Army and was honorably discharged.

Mr. Leavitt was totally disabled from the service and had been in VA homes
since his discharge from the service.

He leaves a niece, Betty Jane Caldwell of Umatilla, FL and five grandnieces,
Rita Graben of Lineville, AL, Tina Flesher of Savannah, GA, Valorie Allen,
Julia DePaula and Betty Jane Zwyer all of Florida.  He is also survived by
seven great-grand nieces and nephews and several cousins.

Graveside committal services with full military honors by the US Army will
be held at the Plainfield Cemetery in Plainfield, NH off route 12A in
Plainfield, NH., in the Spring at the convenience of the family.
