Mrs. Olive E. Garceau, 81, of Pappas Road in Claremont, NH, died Wednesday
evening, May 4, 2005 at the Sullivan County Nursing Home.

She was a native and life long resident of Claremont, NH, born on August 7,
1923 the daughter of Frank and Imelda (Drapeau) LaClair.

She retired in 1983 from Grobet File in Charlestown where she worked for
eight years and had previously worked  as a floral designer at Putnam's
Flowers & Gifts, Skyline Nursery in Springfield, VT, Pappas Greenhouses in
Claremont and started out working when she was sixteen at the International
Shoe Shop.

Olive enjoyed gardening and flowers, crafts, cooking and baking and made
many wedding cakes.

Her first husband, Bernard E. Amell died May 1, 1976.

The surviving family includes her husband, Ernest E. Garceau of Claremont
whom she married on January 22, 1983; one son, Robert W. Amell, Sr. and his
wife, Nancy of Claremont; three daughters, Bonnie L. Rivard of Claremont,
Cheryl A. Broughan and her husband Peter of Gill, MA and Pamela A. Levasseur
and her husband, Stuart of Hartland, VT; five grandchildren, Daniel J.
Rivard, Deidre L. Rivard, Nathan J. Broughan, Robert W. Amell, Jr. and Gary
A. Amell; seven great-grandchildren; four step-grandchildren; four
step-great-grandchildren; one sister, Bernice Brassaw  and her husband,
Frederick of Ocala, FL; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.  She was
pre-deceased by one brother, Maurice A. LaClair who died in 1996 and
son-in-law, William Rivard in 1986.

 

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning, May 9th at
Eleven-Thirty in St Joseph Church with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar,
Pastor, officiating.   Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street on Monday
morning from  ten to eleven o'clock prior to Mass.

The family suggest that donations may be made in her memory to Sullivan
