Paul Dana Slade, 67, of Bible Hill Road in Claremont, NH, died Monday morning, March 20, 2006 at the Valley Regional Hospital. He was a native and life long resident of Claremont, NH born on February 24, 1939 the son of Carlton and Veronica (Young) Slade. He graduated from St Mary's High School in the Class of 1957 and served four years in the US Navy. Paul retired in 2005 as Vice President of the Connecticut River Bank, NA in Claremont where he worked for thirty-three years. After his retirement he started PDS Mortgage. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club of Claremont, Board member of Downtown Claremont and on the Board of Trustees for the City of Claremont. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and enjoyed woodworking, hunting and fishing. The surviving family includes his wife, Joan M. (Klementowicz) Slade of Claremont whom he married on May 29, 1965; one daughter, Stephanie McNutt of Claremont; two sons, Matthew Slade of Boston, MA and Peter Slade of Melrose, MA; two grandchildren, Benjamin Slade and Emily McNutt; three brothers, Gary "Jack" Slade, Richard Slade and Fran Laffin all of Claremont and nieces and nephews. There will be no visiting hours. Funeral arrangements will be at the convenience of the family. The family suggests that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Claremont Soup Kitchen, Inc., P.O. Box 957, Claremont, NH 03743. |
