Raoul J. Potvin, 80, a former resident of Claremont and Forest Lane,
Franklin, PA died Thursday, January 18, 2007 at UPMC Northwest in Seneca
following an extended illness.
Mr. Potvin was born March 12, 1926 in Claremont, NH the son of Fabian and
Germaine (LaCasse) Potvin.
He was a 1944 graduate of Stevens High School and a graduate of Youngstown
University with a degree in mechanical engineering.
Mr. Potvin worked as a mechanical engineer for many years with a number of
area companies, including Joy, Chicago Pneumatic Tool, Conair, Erie Bearings
Co. and the Gage Co. He also had owned and operated his own business
Franklin Air Conditioning and Hydraulics for a number of years.
Mr. Potvin was a faithful member of St. Patrick Church in Franklin, a life
member of the Franklin Knights of Columbus Council 1020 and Fourth Degree
Assembly, a member of the Franklin Club and the Association of Mechanical
Engineers.
He was the widower of Grace (Caccavo) Potvin whom he married June 21, 1952
in St. Patrick Church in Franklin and she died Jan. 12, 1994.
Mr. Potvin enjoyed spending quality time with his family, especially the
time he was able to spend with his grandchildren.
Mr. Potvin is survived by his son, David K. Potvin and his wife, Margaret;
his grandchildren, Katherine Elizabeth and Matthew Joseph Potvin all of
Clarion; and one sister, Theresa Dole and her husband, William of Cornish,
NH.
In addition to his wife and parents, Mr. Potvin was preceded in death by two
brothers, Paul and Victor Potvin.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated in St. Patrick Church with the
Rev. Robert Manning presiding.
Interment followed in St. Patrick Cemetery.
