Raymond Esdell Marshall, 85, of McCoy Home in Newport, formerly of Borough
Road in N. Charlestown, died Tuesday, April 26, 2005 at the Valley Regional
Hospital.  He was born in Westport, NY on December 3, 1919 the son of
Raymond R. and Lucy (Johnson) Marshall.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the Army Air Corps from
1942 to 1945.  He resided in West Hartford, CT until moving to North
Charlestown in 1975.  Mr. Marshall worked as a construction foreman and
carpentry foreman for twenty-one years at the Carnelli Construction Co. in
West Hartford, CT.  From 1969 to 1975 he was self employed general
contractor and also later worked for All Seasons Construction, United
Construction, McGray & Nichols Construction and was a motor route carrier
for the Daily Eagle for seven years.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church in West Hartford, CT.

The surviving family includes his wife, Gladys (White) Marshall of Newport,
NH, whom he married on March 3, 1943; one son, Dennis E. Marshall of
Bellingham, MA; two grandchildren, Carol M. and Christopher R. Marshall of
North Guilford, CT, former daughter-in-law, Michele R. VanEpps of North
Guilford, CT; one sister, Florence M. Fisher of Avon, CT; sisters-in-law,
Pauline L. Marshall of Plattsburgh, NY, Lillian Sheek of Lockney, TX, Clyde
Stringer of Midland, TX and Genevieve Deatherage of Locust Grove, OK and
many nieces and nephews, including Bruce S. Fisher of Winsted, CT.

He was pre-deceased by one brother, Robert J. Marshall and sisters-in-law
Bonne Prickett and M. L. White of TX.

Graveside committal services will be held Saturday, May 14th at Eleven
O'clock in the Rose Hill Memorial Park, Elm Street, Rocky Hill, CT with Rev.
John VanEpps, officiating.

The family suggest that donations may be made in his memory to AIDS Action
Committee of Massachusetts, 294 Washington Street, Boston, MA 02108 for the
2005 Boston AIDs Walk.
