Richard Oliver Palmer, 84, of Cold Pond Road in W. Unity, NH died Wednesday, April 18, 2007 at his home.
He was born in Manchester, NH on October 4, 1922 the son of Oliver and
Rosiley (Courtemanche) Palmer and had resided in West Unity since 1947.
Mr. Palmer retired in 1977 from the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co., where he
punched out soles for women's shoes for thirty-five years.
He was a member of the American Legion Post #29 and the Unity Historical
Society and enjoyed working and helping his neighbors.
He was predeceased by his first wife, Dorothy Jorden Palmer who died in
1995.
The surviving family includes his wife, Lois Edna (Lamprey) Palmer whom he
married on December 18, 1970; one son, Richard O. Palmer, Jr. of Goshen;
three daughters, Sandra Templeton of Claremont, Joanne Peoples of Unity and
Wendy Dion of Newport; twelve grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one
brother, Arthur Palmer of Claremont; two sisters, Dorothy Grayvesen of St
Petersburg, FL and Grace Boisvert of Manchester; one aunt, Vickie Chambers
also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was predeceased by a son, Ronald Palmer in 2003 and two grandsons, Rodney
Scott Belanger in 1981 and Christopher Palmer in 2002.
There are no visiting hours and a private service will be held at a later
date.
The Stringer Funeral Home and Crematorium, 146 Broad Street, Claremont, NH
is in charge of arrangements.
