Rita Marie Bunnell, 81, of Sugar River Drive, died peacefully Sunday
evening, November 4, 2007 at the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center in
Lebanon surrounded by her family.
She was a native and life long resident of Claremont, NH, born on September
23, 1926 the daughter of Alphonse and Ida (LaCasse) Fortin.
She was a graduate of St Mary's High School in the Class of 1943.
Mrs. Bunnell retired due to disability in 1961 from the International and
Encore Shoe Shops where she worked as a fancy stitcher for several years and
had previously worked at Fellows Gear Shaper and Goodyear.
Mrs. Bunnell loved knitting, baking, reading, doing puzzles, being on the CB
where she was known as "Betty Boop" and especial loved her family and
grandchildren.
The surviving family includes her husband, Norman B. Bunnell of Claremont
whom she married on June 30, 1945; one daughter, Holly J. Allard and her
husband, Rock of Claremont; three sons, Lawrence N. Bunnell of Windsor, VT,
Charles A. Bunnell of Claremont and Scott E. Bunnell of Charlestown; one
daughter-in-law, Pat Chase of Windsor; eight grandchildren; three
great-grandchildren; one sister, Lorraine Routhier of Charlestown; one
brother, Rudy Fortin of Colchester, VT and nieces, nephews and cousins.
She was pre-deceased by a brother, Roger Fortin.
Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street on Wednesday
evening from 6 to 8 PM.
Funeral services will be held Thursday morning, November 8th at Ten O'clock
at the Funeral Home with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, Pastor of St Joseph
Church officiating.
Interment will follow in St Mary's Cemetery.
