Robert Adams, 80, of Woodrise Road in Charlestown, died Friday, August 26, 2005 at the Mt Ascutney Hospital and Health Center in Windsor, VT. He was born in North Adams, MA on October 2, 1924 the son of Aurelian and Helena (Giroux) Adams. He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Navy as an aviation mechanic. His lifetime work was in manufacturing and worked at Joy Manufacturing in Claremont in the 50's and 60's as a production control manager and later worked for Pratt Whitney in Connecticut. The surviving family includes his wife, Lorraine E. (Dumoulin) Adams of Charlestown whom he married on June 24, 1944; one son, Craig Adams and his wife, Barbara of Charlestown; two daughters, Lynn Smith and her husband Philip of Zephyrhills, FL and Nancy Coates and her husband Arthur of Melrose, MA; grandchildren, Michele and Erik Norris, Paul and fiancé, Brandy Bailey, Jennifer and James Schauer, Julie Cashin and partner William Johnson, Brian and Diana Smith, Adam Smith and Christopher and Kimberly Coates; eleven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Donald Adams and his wife, Shirley of N. Adams, MA and Lawrence Adams of Vernon, CT also nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning, August 29th at Eleven O'clock in St Catherine of Siena Church on South Main Street in Charlestown with Rev. Father Shawn M. Therrien, officiating. Interment will follow in Hope Hill Cemetery in North Charlestown.
