Robert C. Anthonyson, 93, of Hilltop Place in New London, NH, died Tuesday
afternoon, December 12, 2006 at the New London Hospital.

He was born in New York City, NY on January 11, 1913 the son of Reginald and
Helen (Barton) Anthonyson. 

He had resided in Yonkers, NY for twenty-eight years, in Sutton, NH for
seventeen years and in New London for the past eleven years.

He was a veteran of World War II having served in the US Army.

Mr. Anthonyson worked for the US Government in the Postal Service in
Manhattan, NY for over twenty-five years.

He was a member of the American Legion, was a trustee of the library in
Sutton for several years and was an usher at the Asbury Methodist Church in
Yonkers, NY for many years.

He enjoyed reading, gardening and baking desserts, but was best known for
his wit and positive outlook on life.

He was the widower of Aenid D. (Dottin) Anthonyson whom he married on August
8, 1945 and she died April 9, 2002.

The surviving family includes one son, Robert B. Anthonyson and his wife,
Taryn L. Chiarella of Sunapee; one nephew, Anthony Mathias and one niece,
Margarita Samad-Matias.

He was pre-deceased by two sisters, Alice Mathias and Inez MacKenzie.

Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon, December 16th at One
-Thirty at St Andrews Episcopal Church, Gould Road in New London, with Rev.
Frederick Stecker, retired Rector, officiating.

Interment will be in West Part Cemetery in New London on May 5th at 1 PM.

The family suggest that in lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his
memory to the Council on Aging, Kearsarge Area, 180 Main Street, New London,
NH 03257.
