Robert Joseph Walker, 70, of First Street in Claremont, died Tuesday
morning, August 8, 2006 at the Valley Regional Hospital.

He was born in St Louis, MO on March 24, 1936 the son of John and Alma
(O'Connell) Walker and had resided in Claremont for nineteen years.

He worked at the Stoughton House in Windsor, VT as a maintenance man for the
past four and a half years and had previously worked for sixteen years at
the Chandler House, group home for kids in Claremont as house parents.

The surviving family includes his wife, Penelope (Clough) Walker; seven
children, Linda Louise Walker, Robert Joseph Walker, Jr., Mona Ayers and
George Edward Walker all of Sacramento, CA, Deanna O'Conner of Mansfield,
CT, Dean R. Clough of Perkinsville, VT and Bobby-Jo Noyes of Claremont;
numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, John Walker,
Jr. of Cahokia, IL; one sister, Mary Lou Clubb of Villiages, FL and several
nieces and nephews. 

He was predeceased by one brother, "Bud"; one sister, "Sis".

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street on Friday
evening, August 11th from 6 to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held Saturday morning at Eleven O'clock in the
funeral home with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, Pastor of St Joseph
Church, officiating.
