Robert Verden Parent, 85, formerly of 3 Maple Street in Claremont, died
Thursday morning, October 4, 2007 at the Genesis Eldercare Center in
Lebanon.

He was a native and nearly life long resident of Claremont, born on Feb. 2,
1922 the son of Clayton and Amelia "Minnie" (Hodge) Parent.

He was a graduate of Stevens High School Class of 1940 and was a veteran of
World War II having served in the US Air Force in the South Pacific and
Philippians.

He retired from N.C. Marro Plumbing & Heating Co. where he was an
electrician for 40 years.  He previously worked at Sullivan Machine Co. NP
Sweeney  Plumbing & Heating and NH Supply Co.

He was a communicant of St Joseph Parish, a member of V.F.W. Post 808 and
formerly the Air Force Reserve.

Family includes his wife, Patricia Ellen (Smith) Parent of Lebanon whom he
married on Sept. 16, 1950;  one son, Gary R. Parent and his wife, Sharon of
Lebanon; one daughter, Lynn M. Parent of and husband Edgar Herndenaz of San
Juan Capistrano, CA; four grandchildren, Julie Parent of San Francisco, CA,
Elisabeth Parent of Lebanon, Jill Chastenay and her husband Philip of
Claremont and Jennifer McConkey and husband Matt and great-grandson Dylan of
San Juan Capistrano, CA  also one niece and one nephew.

He was preceded in death by two step-brothers, Maurice LaRoche and Albert
LaRoche also one step-sister, Lillian Eichleberger.

There are no visiting hours. 

The Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont is in charge of
arrangements.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday morning, October 8th at
Eleven O'clock at St Joseph Church, with Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar,
Pastor, officiating.  Interment will follow in St Mary Cemetery.
