Rose Katherine Gaspardino, 100, of St Antoines Residence in North
Smithfield, RI, formerly of Block Avenue in Claremont and West Street in
Charlestown, died Monday afternoon, November 19, 2007 at St Antoines
Residence in Smithfield, RI with her granddaughter, Lisa by her side.

She was born in Claremont, NH on August 7, 1907 the daughter of Michael and
Anna (Marro) Maiola.  She lived in Charlestown for 30 years and returned to
Claremont in 1981 and has been in Rhode Island for the past sixteen years.

Mrs. Gaspardino worked in the laundry room at the Sullivan County Nursing
Home and previously in the shoe shops in the area and part time at Boccia's
in the Square.

She was a devote Catholic her entire life and a sweet, loving woman who
survived much tragedy but managed to keep a beautiful smile on her face. She
was a former member of St Mary's Church in Claremont and St Catherine of
Siena Church in Charlestown.

She was the widow of James A. Gaspardino who died August 12, 1976 and was
pre-deceased by one son, Brian J. Gaspardino in 1976, two daughters, Joan
Williams in 1988 and Jean Zullo in 1991, three sisters, Mary O'Mara in 2003,
Carmela "Minnie" Maiola in 2004 and Elizabeth "Betty" Harrington in 2007 and
an infant sister Josephine Maiola.

The surviving family includes four grandchildren, Lisa (Baldasaro) Carlton,
Andrea Gaspardino, Amy Gaspardino and Jerrid Williams; two
great-grand-daughters Ella Jean Rose Carlton and Rose Marie Williams; three
brothers, Joseph Maiola of Barre, VT, Anthony Maiola of Newport and Rocco
Maiola of Spokane, WA; two sisters, Lena Paradis and Sadie Lessard both of
Claremont and several nieces and nephews.

Rev. Father Stanley J. Piwowar, Pastor of St Joseph Church in Claremont will
conduct a prayer service at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in
Claremont on Friday afternoon, November 23rd at One O'clock.

Interment will follow in St Mary's Cemetery.
