Stanley Charles Greenwood, 60, of McCusker Place in Claremont died Wednesday
morning, April 26, 2006 at Woodlawn Nursing Home in Newport.

He was born in Claremont, NH on August 4, 1945 the son of Howard and Clara
(Jarvis) Greenwood and had resided in Claremont since 1990 and had
previously lived in Springfield, VT.

He was a graduate of Springfield High School and was a veteran having served
in the US Army during the Vietnam Era.

Mr. Greenwood worked at LaCross Footwear in Claremont for 7 ½ years as a
fork lift operator and had previously worked for the Town of Springfield in
the Cemetery Department, at Fellows Gear Shaper, at various restaurants,
including the Hartness House and at Dorr Woolen Mill and several shoe shops.

He was a former member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1201, a life
member of the American Legion Post #29, the VFW Post #808 and the Disabled
American Veterans.

The family includes his significant other, Charlotte Woods; two sons,
Christopher Greenwood and James Greenwood; two grandchildren; his mother,
Clara Greenwood all of Claremont; one sister, Joyce Fleming of Biddeford, ME
and nieces, nephews and cousins.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Thursday evening from 6 to 8 PM. 

Members of the American Legion Post #29 and the VFW Post #808 will conduct a
service  at 7 PM Thursday evening.

A Funeral service will be held at the funeral home on Friday at 11 AM.
Interment with full military honors by the American Legion Post #29 will
follow in Mt. View Cemetery.
