Stephen D. Gurney, 68, of Chase Circle in Charlestown, died Wednesday
evening, February 7, 2007 at his home.

He was born in Webster, MA on August 2, 1938 the son of Ralph W. and Luella
E. (Marble) Gurney, Sr.

Stephen attended Sutton Schools in Sutton, MA and had resided in Charlestown
since 1971.

He worked as a mechanic at Fleet Electric Service in Worcester, MA for
several years before moving to Charlestown where he worked Grobet File for 2
years, St Pierre, Inc. for 10 years, Whelen Engineering, Inc. for 8 years
and lastly Wal Mart for 5 years.

Stephen loved working on his 1955 Ford truck, camping all over the USA,
going to car shows and his dog. He also enjoyed country and blue grass
music.

He was a member of the Coast to Coast Camping Association and was a former
member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #1201 of Claremont.

The surviving family includes his wife, Shirley A. (Roy) Gurney of
Charlestown whom he married on August 5, 1967;  one brother, Ralph W. "Bud"
Gurney, Jr. of Sutton, MA; one sister, Carolyn L. Tebo of Bradenton, FL and
nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was pre-deceased by an infant son, Darrell S. Gurney and a sister,
Barbara E. Weaver.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Sunday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday morning, February 12th at Eleven
O'clock at the Funeral Home.

Interment will be in Howard Cemetery in Sutton, MA on Tuesday, February 13th
at Eleven O'clock.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the American
Cancer Society, Gail Singer Memorial Building, 360 Route 101, Unit #8,
Bedford, NH 03110  or the American Heart/Stroke Association, Two Wall
Street, Manchester, NH 03101-1518.
