Theresa Marvin, 82, formerly of Stone Avenue in Claremont, died Sunday morning, July 31, 2005 at the Sullivan County Nursing Home following an extended period of failing health. She was a native and life long resident of Claremont, born on May 6, 1923 the daughter of Arthur W. and Evelyn A. (Houde) Barrows and had spent many winters in Davenport, FL. She married Frank A. Marvin, Jr. Sept. 2, 1946 in Claremont. He passed away Sept. 26, 1998. Following her graduation from St. Mary's High School in 1941 Mrs. Marvin co-owned and operated her own beauty shop as a hairdresser with her sister and also worked at the service desk at the Giant Store in Claremont. She was a past member of the AARP and the Catholic Daughters of the Americas and enjoyed both ballroom and square dancing, camping and playing cards. Mrs. Marvin is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Lester (Sandra) St. Pierre and Mrs. Louis (Nancy) Ferland both of Claremont; four grandsons, Matthew St. Pierre of Danbury, CT, Spencer Ferland and Nicholas St. Pierre both of Claremont and Adam Ferland of So. Royalton, VT; two sisters, Mrs. William (Rose) Thalasinos of Murrieta, CA and Mrs. Eileen Sullivan of Claremont and several nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, August 2nd at Ten O'clock at Old St Mary's Church, on Old Church Road in W. Claremont with Rev. Father Richard St. Louis of St. Patrick's Church in Newport, officiating.
