Virginia M. Gobin, 72, of Rachel Place, in Pine Hill Mobile Home Court, in
Claremont, died Friday afternoon, October 14, 2005 at the Sullivan County
Nursing Home.

She was a native and life long resident of Claremont, born on August 29,
1933 the daughter of George A. and Wanheta M. (Underwood) Picard.  She had
previously lived on Cedar Street for thirty years and on Elm Street Ext. for
several years.  She was a graduate of Stevens High School.

Mrs. Gobin retired in 1989 from Sturm Ruger in Newport where she worked for
eleven years as a hand sander and had previously worked at Hampshire Mfg.
Co. and several other shoe shops in the area.

She was the widow of Robert Gobin whom she married on Nov. 8, 1958 and he
died January 17, 2003.

The surviving family includes one son, John H. Gobin and his wife, Cheryl A.
of Claremont; five grandchildren, Virginia K. West and her husband Dale and
John H. Kelley IV and his wife, Corrine all of Claremont, Charles R. Kelley
of Jacksonville, FL, Michael B. Kelley of Rochester, NH, Amber-Leigh D.
Carnes and her husband, Randy of Ft. Worth, TX; nine great-grandchildren;
two sisters, Barbara J. Barrow of Claremont and Patricia E. Temple and her
husband, Eugene of Jacksonville, FL; one brother, Gerald W. Picard of
Jacksonville, FL; one aunt, Charlotte Woods of Claremont and many nieces,
nephews, cousins and a special person, Joey.

She was pre-deceased besides her husband, by two brothers, Nelson A. Picard
in 1966 and Robert G. Picard in 1967.

A Memorial Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday morning,
October 18th at Eleven O'clock in St Mary's Church with Rev. Father Shawn M.
Therrien, Pastor, officiating.

Interment will follow in St Mary's Cemetery.
