Wallace Frederick Hentschel, 82, a lifetime resident of Claremont, died
Tuesday, May 1, 2007 at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in White
River Junction, VT.

He was born in Milford, MA on April 8, 1925 the son of Walter and Blanche
(Boone) Hentschel.

He was a graduate of Stevens High School and was a veteran of World War II
and the Korean Conflict having served in the US Navy.

Mr. Hentschel had various jobs in the area and spent the last twenty years
at Jones and Lamson Machine Company in Springfield, VT and retired  in the
late 1980's.

He was a Life member of the American Legion Post #29.

Wallace was the widower of Marion (Hart) Hentschel whom he married on
September 6, 1947 and she died November 3, 1988.

The surviving family includes his significant other, Louise Sawyer of
Claremont; two sons, William W. Hentschel of Rockland, MA and David A.
Hentschel of Ferrisburg, VT; one daughter Beth Ann Pickett of Monkton, VT;
eleven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; two brothers; one aunt and
numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

He was pre-deceased by two brothers.

Friends may call at the Stringer Funeral Home, 146 Broad Street in Claremont
on Saturday evening from 6 to 8 PM.

Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon, May 6th at Two O'clock at
the Funeral Home with Rev Stephen Cook, Pastor of the Calvary Baptist
Church, officiating.  Interment will follow in Union Cemetery.

The family suggest that donations may be made in his memory to the American
Legion Post, 119 Broad Street, Claremont, NH 03743.
