William B. Ferriter, MD, 94, of Harmony Lane, formerly of Foisy Hill Rd and
a long time resident of Myrtle Street, died Wednesday evening, August 15,
2007 at the Haven Health Care of Claremont.

He was born in Brattleboro, VT on May 27, 1913 the son of James P. and
Florinel (Kelley) Ferriter.

He was a graduate of the University of Vermont where he received his BA  in
1936 and the Vermont Medical School where he received his Medical Degree in
1939.

Following 3 ˝ years of medical training in New York and Boston Hospitals he
served as a Captain in the Medical Corps during World War II in the US Army
with tours of duty in Greenland and in Italy.

On his return to the USA he started his medical practice in Claremont with
his office in the Union Block for nearly fifty years and retired in 1982.

He was the Joy Manufacturing Co. physician for 20 years and 20 years as the
school physician.

The surviving family includes his wife, Marion K. (Kelly) Ferriter of
Claremont whom he married on April 4, 1942; one daughter, Eileen Bennett of
Claremont; two sons, Dr. William B. Ferriter, Jr. and his wife, Diane of
Thetford, VT and Matthew Ferriter and his wife Diana of East Greenwich, RI;
six grandchildren, Bridget Fillo, Erin Clabaugh, Scott Ferriter, Lindsay
Ferriter, A.J. Ferriter and M. Luke Ferriter; five great-grandchildren,
Keely Fillo, Patrick Fillo, William Fillo, Laura Clabaugh and Tess Clabaugh.

He was pre-deceased by one brother and three sisters.

A private memorial service was held at the Stringer Funeral Home with Rev.
Father Stanley J. Piwowar, Pastor of St Joseph Church, officiating.

Interment will be at a later date at the convenience of the family.
