William Carlton Webster, 85, of Crown Point Drive in Charlestown died Sunday
evening, October 14, 2007 at the Haven Health Center of Claremont.
He was born in McKinley, ME on June 27, 1922 the son of Edwin H. and
Madeline (Goodwin) Webster and resided in Charlestown since 1985.
He lived in Weathersfield, VT for a short time, moved to Claremont and lived
on the Newport Road for many years.
He retired from LaValley's Building Supply in 1980 where he worked building
trusses for seventeen years. He and his wife operated Webster's Jelly Stand
for many years on the Newport Road in Claremont and also out of their home
in Charlestown.
He attended the Charlestown Congregational Church.
The surviving family includes, his wife, Eleanor Mary (Milliken) Webster of
Charlestown whom he married on June 8, 1946; three sons, William C. Webster,
Jr. of Claremont, David A. Webster of Swanzey and Peter D. Webster and his
wife, Michele of Bennington, VT; one daughter, Mary Lou Adams and her
husband, George, Jr. of Malone, NY; 13 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren;
one brother, Rodney Webster of Sun Lake, AZ; three sisters, Elaine Snelling
of Charlestown, Sylvia Sinclair of Davenport, Iowa and Lucille Allison of
Roswell, NM; also several nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was pre-deceased by a grand-daughter, Amy Webster in 2002 and two
sisters, Edna Mitchell and Louise Dorr.
There are no visiting hours.
A memorial service will be held Saturday, October 20th at Eleven O'clock in
the Charlestown Congregational Church with Rev. Malcolm Grobe, officiating.
Interment will follow in Pine Crest Cemetery.
The Stringer's Charlestown Memorial Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
The family suggests that donations may be made in his memory to the
