Winifred Agnes Stewart, 71, of Oakdale Apartments in Charlestown, died Wednesday morning, February 8, 2006 at the Springfield Health & Rehab Center in Springfield, VT. She was born in Weston, VT on December 18, 1934 the daughter of Hiland and Lilla (Orkins) Pease. She was raised in the Weston, VT area and had resided in Charlestown since 1959. Mrs. Stewart worked at Ralph's Market as a clerk and at Keil Lock/Lloyd Matheson Company as a lock assembly person. She loved her grand and great-grandchildren and enjoyed bingo, bowling and playing card games. She was the widow of William Ervin Stewart whom she married on March 21, 1953 and he died June 2, 1987. The surviving family includes two sons, William Alan Stewart and his wife, Linda and Ronald Wayne Stewart and his wife, Judy all of Charlestown; one daughter, Terri Lee Valcourt and her companion, Rodney Peck of Enfield; six grandchildren, Steven Stewart, Jeffrey Stewart, Melissa Grillone, Christopher Stewart, Michael "Mickey" Stewart and Robin Lawrence; nine great-grandchildren; one sister, Phyllis Blanchard of Londonderry, VT; her mother-in-law, Gertrude Stewart of Charlestown and nieces, nephews and cousins. She was pre-deceased by one sister, Thelma Hart. Funeral services will be held Saturday, Feb. 11th at Twelve Noon at the Charlestown Memorial Chapel, 34 Main Street with Rev. Malcolm Grobe, Interim Pastor of the Charlestown Congregational Church, officiating. Friends may call at the Chapel on Saturday morning from Ten to Twelve Noon, prior to the services. Interment will be in Pine Crest Cemetery. The family suggests that donations may be made in her memory to the American Lung Association of New Hampshire, 9 Cedarwood Drive Unit 2, Bedford, NH 03110. |
